To mold young entrepreneurs who may otherwise not have many opportunities, she began an internship program at GEORGE STREET SERVICES that employs students in underserved communities and provides on-the-job training, which includes analytics and market research. Many of these interns have graduated from the program and moved on to part-time and full-time jobs that have advanced their careers. For example, the first intern with whom she worked—who began on state assistance and had never worn a business suit—went from complete novice to a sophisticated young woman of impeccable business etiquette with the know-how to provide solid office support and advance at the firm. As a graduate of GEORGE STREET SERVICES Emerging Leaders Program, this former intern moved on to the #2 position at a local nonprofit in Manhattan, New York.
